Annual Music Festival pays tribute to Underground Railroad, early black pioneers

And this year, the Underground Railroad Music Festival is expected to be even bigger and better. Beaches Jazz Festival a hot event!
Diana and Chris rocked the crowd with their hot summer blues concert at the Beaches Jazz Festival in Toronto last week. CD Launch a Big Success
Chris and Diana's Big Blues Revue rocked a packed Hugh's Room to successfully launch the new "DeltaPhonic " CD with Electro Fi Records.
The 24th Street Wailers provided stellar backup , as the duo debuted some new songs from the CD. Special guests included Neil Brathwaite, Danny Marks, Ken Whiteley, John Sheard, Big Cec and Star, and the beautiful Bluesettes. The music was hot , the vibes were good and a great time was had by audience and performers alike.

Epcor Centre Concert in Calgary
Diana and Chris played to a packed house at the Epcor Centre in Calgary on June 5th.  The Event was held in the Engineer Air Theatre and part of the Carma Acoustic Blues Series.

On Sunday morning , June 27th , Diana and Chris were featured on the final hour of CBC's,
The Sunday Edition, with host Michael Enright.
They  performed  6 acoustic songs live in the studio, as well as speaking with renowned interviewer Michael Enright. The show aired on CBC Radio 1, 99.1 FM.

Capitol Theatre, Port Hope Ontario
After returning from their European tour , Braithwaite and Whiteley will be headlining at Port Hope's beautiful Capitol Theatre. They are planning an exciting evening of the best in vintage blues, featuring original and classic material. Maple Blues Award Winners!! Diana and Chris win Songwriter of the Year Award at the Maple Blues Awards Show. Chris also wins Best Horn Player and Lifetime Achievement Award. Total Awards for the dynamic duo to date – 8 Maple Blues Awards, a Gemini and African-American Women in the Arts Award, a Cable Ace Award LA, six Juno nominations and a Golden Sheaf and Jazz Report Award.

February 2010 Braithwaite and Whiteley perform live on CBC Radio for host Andy Barrie who retires from job as Metro Morning Radio Host.

Diana and Chris completed another successful school tour of Sugar and Gold – The story of the Underground Railroad in Canada. 2010 brings the total student audience that have seen the show to 40,000.
